Gymnastics

We are done for this season. Teagan and Landon LOVED it though and we will certainly be signing up during the cold months again in the Fall.

Easter 2010 photo shoot

Photo shoots are getting more and more difficult with Taylor and Maya on the move before I can even back up enough to get the shot. Hopefully this is temporary since as they get a bit older, they will be able to have minor threats made to them, as I do with Teagan and Landon, to make them sit still. Threats or bribery are completely acceptable while trying to capture life long memories in photos, aren't they?!

Easter

Thankfully I didn't attempt a trip to see
the "real" Easter bunny. The girls didn't even have
tolerance for this big stuffed guy!

Coloring eggs with small children is NOT a good idea for someone with mild to moderate obsessive compulsive disorder. Teagan was slightly more artistic than Landon who just wanted to pile as many eggs as possible into the cups of dye. They all turned out beautiful and made egg salad and deviled eggs for days!

Girls rule

Teagan, Taylor and Maya all had well child check ups this week. One of the perks of having this many kids is that you can cram multiple doctor visits into one appointment. When Landon has his 3 year check up, Maya and Taylor will have their 18 month appt. We have already planned it out!

Anyway, Teagan had her 5 year check up, a bit early to get ready for Kindergarten. We talked about booster shots and all of the other fun things that would happen there. She was a total trooper and loved the eye exam and the blood pressure test. She wasn't so sure about putting on the scratchy looney tunes covered hospital gown, but we told her it was either that or wait for Dr. Bentley naked. She chose the gown and her check up went well. She is actually measuring a little on the tall side and her weight is averaging out. Everything else was excellent. She opted to let the twins get their shots first. I knew that that wasn't a great idea since she would have time to get stressed out. She waited patiently and then when it was her turn she politely said, I don't want any shots! I held her on my lap and she screamed with the first poke, pinched me with the second and contorted her body to try to escape the third. But, as quickly as it started, it was over. She was a champ and was happy to hear that shots were on the back burner for at least 7 more years.

Taylor and Maya checked out well too. They are still measuring tiny, Taylor is only in the 10th percentile for weight at 18 lbs. and Maya is a bit higher at 19.5 lbs. They are healthy and happy and Dr. Bentley even told Tyler and I that he is proud of us. We kind of laughed, but it was a nice pat on the back. Dr. Bentley has 8 children, including a set of twin girls. We take his advice as gold!

Back in the game...

Well, it has only been about 3 months since my last post. I honestly planned on updating about once a week. We have had a few minor setbacks and life has carried on. We are back on track and functioning as usual.

Teagan is registered for Kindergarten. She will begin at the end of August. She just finished her first attempt at gymnastics and loved it. We are gearing up for round 2 of soccer season. She hasn't played since the fall, but is eagerly anticipating it and desperate to find out what color her team will be wearing. She continues to take tap/ballet and likes it, but I think will choose gymnastics over another year of dance in the fall.

Landon is knee deep into potty training. We have only thrown away a few pairs of "panties" as he likes to call them (thanks to having an older sister). Teagan is his biggest supporter, mostly because she likes to take part in his reward of mini M&M's. He has had more success than failure, which I try to remind myself of when the going gets tough. He also did gymnastics on Saturday mornings and had a great time. It was his first time taking direction from an adult other than Mom and Dad and after the first class and a half, he was happy to do what was requested of him with big waves and smiles to us waiting on the sidelines.

Taylor and Maya should each have their own paragraphs, but they are still "the babies" and so I will write about them together. They just turned 1 last week and Tyler and I are still looking at each other with the familiar confused look and saying, "We have twins". It never gets old, seriously. They are so sweet and happy and go with the flow that is Teagan and Landon. We are blessed to have them and know it, every single day. I can't imagine our family without their sweet faces in it. Maya is walking about 5-10 steps at a time and Taylor is right behind her as she has been most of their life. It is kind of cute, almost as if because Taylor was born first, Maya will do most everything else first. They are eating everything we are, which is so nice for the budget. If you think baby food is expensive, try buying it x2. The girls continue to be fabulous sleepers, sleeping most nights from 730-630. Taylor loves to play peek a boo from behind the coffee table and Maya has started playing by covering her eyes with her hands.

Tyler and I are enjoying every second of all of these kids, but looking forward to what the future holds, like more time alone for us! We have been so fortunate lately to have found 2 babysitters that we trust and that our kids enjoy. One is for night time and the other day. We really don't get out much, but when we do, it makes it that much more of a treat.

Tyler still loves the job that found him in Utah. We know how lucky we are when he walks out the door every morning that he isn't miserable and that he still in fact has a job to go to with employees, bosses and equals that he truly considers friends.

I am happy, stressed, amused, high strung, exhausted and full of joy every day while I am home with my 4 beautiful healthy children.

I promise I will try to update more regularly...check back in about a month!!!!

Here we go....

I have been putting this off long enough, I think. I love talking about my family to anyone that wants to listen. Posting pictures for family and friends is something I try to keep up with too. I keep thinking though that people are bored and tired of hearing random details of our life. This is the answer. You can come and check it out or don't! It is entirely up to you. How could I not have done this sooner?
Now if I can just remember to update it at regular intervals....
